Kutai4 - 5's

Kūtai Room (3.5 to 6 years)

The Senior preschool is down the other end of the building and has the biggest outdoor space of the centre.

A permanent play structure outside, sandpit, water play, bikes and a veggie garden are on offer. Once again for continuity of care the environment is set up in a similar way to the junior preschool, everything is simply more age appropriate and the routines throughout the day differ.

Our transition to school programme has been put together through extensive consultation with families, the local primary schools and our teachers of whom 2 are qualified primary school teachers. The entire programme that is run in the classroom is designed to prepare children for the next step to “big school”, with key competencies and expectations from parents and primary schools woven through everything we do in a day.

Our routines are flexible and allow for plenty of child initiated exploration and learning through play whilst still providing time for specific daily routines structured around meal times and group learning opportunities.

I love on a fruit farm out the back of Kumeu and I love the outdoors! I went to Massey High School and I love to dance! I love watching the children experience new things and learn through their play. It’s so rewarding when you help the children learn and master a new skill!

Kia ora whanau. I love working, learning and growing alongside our tamariki. I enjoy the diversity that my job offers. No two days are the same! I have a Playcentre philosophy and believe that pre-schoolers can learn all they need to through play. I think that relationships play a very important part in the early years and I love watching our children as they form friendships and learn from and alongside each other. I moved to Woodhill in 2003, (west is best) and I have a teenaged son. I love being a part of our great community and the awesome Jojo's team/whānau.

I am 22 years old and I live in Kumeu with my partner Ben and my 2.5 year old daughter Ava-Rose. I am currently studying towards my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I have always had a passion for children and enjoy watching them learn and grow each day. I love working here at Jojo's with a great group of staff, awesome children and their great whanau.

I have three children Esme, Isla and Blake, whom all also attend Jojo’s. I live a short distance away in West Harbour with my fiancé Richard, two children and two dogs, Oodle and Spookie. I enjoy working with the Kina age range as they are learning and taking an abundance in as they grow from a baby into a big toddler. I also have a huge interest in messy play and enjoy watching the children learn through experiencing different textures and resources. I look forward to building reciprocal relationships with the children and their whānau.

I have been teaching in early childhood since 2002 and am passionate about children having the freedom to learn in their own time surrounded by loving and attentive teachers.  I have 2 children of my own and they both came through Jojo's as well.   I look forward to getting to know you all.
