About us

Jojo’s Childcare is a family owned and run Early Learning Centre licenced for 100 children from birth to six years old. Our five unique and well-resourced areas support the age-related needs of your child, from quiet spaces for wee babies to stimulating activities for active five year olds.

Children grow and learn when they feel safe and have built strong relationships with the people around them. That’s why our families, children and teachers become part of the Jojo’s whānau. Our team of over 20 teachers each bring their own diverse backgrounds and ideas, and our amazing indoor and outdoor spaces support safe, child-led discovery through a range of fun activities.

We are proudly bi-cultural and inclusive of many different cultures. Our excellent learning environment incorporates Te Whāriki which encourages our children: “to grow as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society”.

To nourish our children, we provide healthy morning and afternoon teas and lunches. Our food is all prepared onsite and is made up of delicious whole ingredients that are low in sugar. We also teach children where food comes from with our own veggie garden and fruit trees.

Giving back to the community and looking after our environment is also very important to us. We support local charities and run fun, family friendly events. We are also a plastic bag free centre.

“Children see magic because they look for it.”

“As a parent of five kids myself, I know that who you choose to look after your children is one of the biggest decisions you have to make. That’s why Jojo’s Childcare is passionate about giving your child the opportunities they need to explore, grow and play in a fun, friendly and safe space, while celebrating and nurturing their unique personalities and interests.”

Meet our Management Staff

Laura - Front Office Coordinator

Administrator Hi, I'm Laura and I have been the front office Coordinator at Jojo's since March 2020. My family has been local to this area since 2009, with our youngest daughter cared for from 9 months through to 5 years here at Jojo's. She, like many other Jojo graduates still loves seeing her old teachers when she pops in to visit. Hence this place kind of feels just like home to our family. I love seeing new faces and welcoming new families to our ever-expanding whānau, so feel free to pop in anytime and say hello!

Mel - Curriculum Leader/Manager

Diploma of Education ECE My name is Mel and I been teaching in Early Childhood since 2007. I was born and raised just north of Christchurch with my two sisters and parents, then moved to Auckland in 2009 and never looked back. I now live out west with my partner and our three children, Noah, Niko, and Nova. I really enjoy being a teacher and have worked with all age groups. I love having a career where every day is always different, always busy, and fun. My teaching philosophy consists of many different ideas and theories, but free play and children having the freedom to choose their learning destination in my main focus. I look forward to working alongside you and your child.
